It talks to VRChat over OSC, the same way your face tracking and heart rate apps do. Nothing in VRChat is modified, and they all keep running.
In your headset
Run it from inside VR.
XSOverlay
Start or stop sharing and switch looks from your wrist.
OyasumiVR
Fall asleep and your avatar changes into its sleep look. Sharing can pause or stop while you sleep.
SteamVR
Turn it on in Settings and the app starts in the tray whenever SteamVR does.
Heart rate and music
Shown on your friends page only if you switch it on.
Heart rate monitors
Any Bluetooth chest strap, or a watch set to broadcast heart rate. Avatars set up for HRtoVRChat, Pulsoid or the VRCOSC prefabs pick it up.
Music players
Whatever Windows says is playing: Spotify, Apple Music, TIDAL and more. Browsers once you allow them. No login.
Chatbox
Tell the instance what your friends changed.
VRChat chatbox
Lines like "myAviLink · turned on Ears", one every two seconds at most. Nothing marked adult, ever.
VRCOSC
Send the lines through VRCOSC and they show up in your own chatbox layout.
OpenShock and toys 18+
Off until you turn each one on, and never past the most you set.
OpenShock
Friends press vibrate, shock or beep on your shockers. Shock stays off on every shocker until you turn it on.
ShockOSC
Keeps running beside it. Its parameters never ride along with a look or a random roll.
Bluetooth toys
Built in, nothing to install. Friends move a slider for each thing a toy can do, and it goes back to zero when they leave.
Lovense Remote
For a toy kept in Lovense Remote on your phone, or on a PC with Lovense's USB dongle.
Your avatar
Nothing to add in Unity.
VRCFury and Modular Avatar
Toggles built with either show up like any other.
Compressed avatars
Fine with VRCFury's Parameter Compressor and the Memory Optimizer.
Face tracking
VRCFaceTracking keeps running alongside, and face tracking is never shared.
GoGo Loco
Its parameters are left out for you.
On Quest? It works when VRChat runs on your PC: Link, Air Link and Virtual Desktop. In desktop mode too, except XSOverlay and OyasumiVR.
